(Omaha, NE) -- An Omaha man is sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for sex trafficking a minor.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says on Thursday, 26 year old Glenn Whitney was sentenced to 250 months for trafficking. There is no parole in the federal prison system. After his release from prison, Whitney will serve 5 years of supervised release and will be required to register as a sex offender.
Prosecutors say federal agents launched their investigation in September 2020, after an Omaha foster child was reported missing. The investigation showed that the 16 year old victim engaged in commercial sex acts in the Omaha area with Whitney directing the minor victim. Prosecutors say Whitney told the girl where to conduct acts and how much to charge. They say he also received financial proceeds from those acts.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the Omaha Police Department and the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office.
