The Nebraska State Patrol identifies the three young people who died in the Tuesday evening traffic crash as 18-year old Monica Chohon, 11-year old James Chohon, and 7-year old Andrew Chohon, all of Wahoo.
They were were pronounced deceased at the scene of the two vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 77 and Nebraska Highway 109, north of Wahoo.
The Patrol believes a Pontiac Grand Am, driven by Monica Chohon was southbound on Highway 109 and stopped at a stop sign at the intersection.
An unknown, eastbound vehicle then stopped in the left lane of Highway 77, whose traffic has the right of way at that intersection.
At that time, the Pontiac attempted to proceed through the intersection, but was hit by an eastbound Dodge Ram 3500, that was traveling in the right lane of Highway 77 causing the Pontiac to roll into a ditch.
Investigators say the driver of the Ram, 40-year old Tobias Hartung of Fremont, was unhurt.
The third vehicle, the unidentified vehicle that stopped in the left lane of Highway 77, then left the scene.
Law enforcement wants to speak with the driver of that vehicle, as a witness to the crash.
