The City of Lincoln is officially welcoming a new Police Chief. The City Council unanimously approves Teresa Ewins as the next Chief of Police in the Capital City on a 7-0 vote.
The move makes Ewins Lincoln's first openly gay and first female police chief.
Ewins has been overseeing 900 officers as a commander with the San Francisco Police Department.
She is expected to begin her new duties on August 30th.
