Power Restoration Crews Racing Down Home Stretch

The Omaha Public Power District says crews exceeded their restoration goal for Thursday, and the goal for Friday is 99.5% restoration by 11:59 p.m.

The utility reports the number of outages is under a thousand, with most of those being in Douglas County.

After the windstorm hit early last Saturday morning, the outage number was at a record setting peak of 188,000.

OPPD says more than 900 field workers, from damage assessment and downed wire crews to tree crews and line techs, are working to finish the restoration.
