The Omaha Police Department says they are investigating after Officer Terry Hughes was arrested early Friday morning. Police say just after 3:00 Friday morning, officers were called to an apartment near 35th and Jackson. OPD says the caller told 911 that Hughes, her boyfriend, destroyed property before leaving in a truck. Investigators say when police arrived, they met with three people who indicated that Hughes had an altercation with his girlfriend and another man at the residence.

OPD says the people interviewed also told officers that Hughes had damaged items within the apartment. Hughes was arrested and booked into Douglas County Corrections for two counts of terroristic threats, two counts of use of a weapon to commit a felony, and a count of destruction of property.
