(Ralston, NE) -- Nebraska’s largest 4th of July parade is back after being cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and for the first time ever, it will be televised.
Ralston Independence Day Celebration parade organizers have made arrangements for the parade to be televised live on News Channel Nebraska (NCN), Channel 26.2 Omaha, Cox Channel 116 / 1116. The broadcast will also stream live online here.
EJ and Hoss from KAT 103.7 will emcee the parade for the seventh year in a row and will also be featured on the NCN broadcast.
The theme for this year’s parade is “Tribute to Essential Workers”, which organizers say prompted the presenting sponsorship for the TV broadcast by Meridian Clinical Research, a locally-headquartered pharmaceutical and biotechnology research company. In the past year, Meridian conducted numerous Phase II and III clinical trials for COVID-19 vaccines, including the Moderna and Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines that were authorized for emergency use.
“We felt this was an opportunity to provide a way for not only metro area residents getting to experience the parade but to provide an opportunity statewide with NCN’s statewide reach,” said Ralston Area Chamber of Commerce Board Chair Jason Richards. “We’re also proud to highlight the efforts that Meridian has provided for the safety of the community and the nation.”
