(Undated) -- Nebraska has the second fastest recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic according to a recent study.
Personal finance website WalletHub ranked the states and how quickly they are recovering from COVID-19 in a study released on Tuesday. The national unemployment rate is currently at 5.8%, while around 42% of the American population is fully vaccinated. Meanwhile in Nebraska, the unemployment rate is the lowest in the country at 2.8% and 44% of Nebraskans are fully vaccinated.
To identify the states that are having the most successful recoveries, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 21 key metrics including: COVID-19 Death and Hospitalization Rates, Current Unemployment Rate vs. Pre-COVID Levels, Share of Population Fully Vaccinated and Average Daily Restaurant Visits.
Nebraska was ranked second, being beat out by neighboring Iowa for the top spot. You can see the full rankings here.
