(Council Bluffs, IA) -- A Council Bluffs man is behind bars, accused of stabbing another man.
The Council Bluffs Police Department says just before 10:45 Sunday night, officers were called to the area of 21st Street and 3rd Ave for a reported stabbing. Investigators say when officers arrived they located the victim, 39 year old Carnell Walker, of Council Bluffs. Police say Walker had several cuts on his upper torso and was transported to a local trauma center.
Police say while on the scene, officers also located a possible suspect, 50 year old Dennis Ruppe, also of Council Bluffs. Ruppe was treated on scene for a small cut to his hand, then transported to the Council Bluffs Police Department.
Ruppe is facing charges of Attempted Murder, Willful Injury, Aggravated Assault and Criminal Mischief. The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Council Bluffs Police Criminal Investigation Division at 712-328-4728
