(Avoca, IA) -- One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Avoca, Iowa.
The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office says around 6:30 Monday morning, deputies along with Avoca and Walnut Fire and Rescue were called to the 45000 block of State Highway 83 in Avoca for a single vehicle crash. Investigators say once crews got to the scene, they found a 2005 Pontiac G6, with a single occupant inside.
The sheriff's office says the G6 was westbound on Highway 83 when it left the roadway, hit a utility pole and came to rest in a farm field. Investigators says the driver suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The identity of the driver is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
