The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services says a Licensed Practical Nurse was taken into custody for unauthorized communications with a prisoner.
The State Patrol arrested 45 year old Sondra Herring, who worked at the Nebraska State Penitentiary.
Corrections says Herring has been employed by the department since March 2013.
Unauthorized communication with a prisoner is a Class IV felony in Nebraska.
