Dodge County Attorney resigns

(Dodge County, NE) -- The Dodge County Attorney has submitted his resignation.

On Wednesday, Oliver Glass submitted his resignation, which is effective on March 1st. Glass was arrested in January for violating probation for a previous DUI charge. According to court documents, those violations include a missed probation home visit on January 11th, a positive alcohol test and admission on January 12th, a missed probation appointment on January 26th and a positive alcohol test on January 28th.

When asked for comment on his resignation, Glass said, “It was a difficult decision, but at this time I feel it is the right thing to do moving forward for my children and me.”

Glass says he will use his last days in office to help with the transition for Chief Deputy Sara Sopinski, who will take over his role. Glass was first elected as Dodge County Attorney in 2014 and was reelected in 2018.
