North Omaha Traffic Crash Victims Are Identified

Omaha Police Traffic Unit investigators say an eastbound Dodge Journey traveling over the posted 30 mph speed limit ran a red light at 24th and Lake Streets Monday afternoon striking a "Z-Trip" taxi service Hyundai sedan which was turning under a green arrow from northbound 24th to westbound Lake.

Police say the taxi driver, 49-year old Terrell Lindsey of Omaha, died from injuries suffered in the crash shortly after arriving at a hospital.

Investigators say an unrestrained rear seat passenger in the Hyundai, 60-year old Laron Imani of Omaha, died at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge, 43-year old Chaz Booker, is in serious condition with a head injury.

Police say charges are pending.against Booker when he is released from the hospital. No other injuries were reported.
