Arrest made in the murder of Omaha man

(Omaha, NE) -- An arrest has been made in the murder of a 22 year old Omaha man.

Omaha Police say 22 year old Brevin Fleming was arrested on Thursday and booked into Douglas County Corrections on charges of 1st Degree Murder, 1st Degree Felony Assault and 2 counts of Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony in connection to a Saturday afternoon shooting.

Police say just before 4:30 PM on Saturday, January 2nd, officers responded to a Shotspotter activation near 24th and Emmet. Once at the scene, officers found two men suffering from gunshot injuries. 21 year old Desmond Edwards was transported to Nebraska Medicine with non-life-threatening injuries. 22 year old Jumeez Sherman was also taken to Nebraska Medicine with critical, life-threatening injuries. Sherman died two days later, on Monday January 4th.
