A man is found dead in a Lincoln apartment following a fire Wednesday morning.
Lincoln Fire & Rescue says just after 2:30 Wednesday morning, crews were called to an apartment complex in the 5500 block of Salt Valley View for a reported fire. Once on the scene, LFR could see smoke coming from a 1st floor apartment. Investigators say smoke detectors were going off when crews entered the apartment.
Once inside the apartment, firefighters found a 37 year old man who was unconscious and not breathing. The man was later pronounced dead. LFR says the fire was contained to the kitchen of the apartment and that no other residents of the building were displaced.
The Lincoln Police Department says at this time, the man's cause of death is unknown. LPD investigators are working with LFR to follow up on this incident.
