Two children reported missing from New York were found in Council Bluffs over the weekend.
Council Bluffs Police say around 12:30 Saturday afternoon, an officer stopped a gray Toyota Van with New York license plates that was going 94 mph in a 65 mph zone on westbound I-80. Investigators say after the officer made contact with the van's occupants, it was found that the driver was a missing 14 year old boy out of New York. Police say the boy's passenger, an 11 year old girl, was also reported missing out of New York.
CBPD says the pair were put into protective custody. Law enforcement in New York were contacted and CBPD says they are in the process of bringing the children back home. The children's names are not being released due to their age.
