Omaha City Council extends mask ordinance to February

Omaha's mask ordinance is being extended through the first two months of next year.

On Tuesday, the City Council voted to keep the city’s mask ordinance in place for the next 90 days, through most of February. The council heard the latest round of public comment during its Oct. 27 meeting.

Councilman Pete Festersen proposed the extension with members Ben Gray, Vinny Palermo, and Chris Jerram all voted in favor. Councilwoman Amiee Melton was the lone 'no' vote. Member Rich Pahls was not in attendance and Councilman Brinker Harding watched the meeting via Zoom.

The ordinance will now be in place until February 23rd.
