Masks to be required in Council Bluffs City Hall

People needing to go to the Council Bluffs City Hall will be required to wear a face mask going forward.

On Monday, the City Council approved a resolution that requires anyone entering City Hall to wear a face covering. The city says if a person that needs to conduct business in City Hall is unable to wear a face covering, they should contact the department directly to make alternate arrangements. The City Clerk’s office will provide visitors a mask if needed. If someone refuses to wear a mask they will be charged with criminal trespass.

The Mayor’s Proclamation states that the operation of City Government is an essential function for our community, and that steps should be taken to reduce the potential for our employees to be infected by this virus. “We implemented a face covering requirement for all City of Council Bluffs employees several weeks ago,” said Mayor Matt Walsh. “This is an added layer of mitigation and protection for our employees and for patrons visiting City Hall.”
