Council Bluffs Police are on the lookout for what is described as a "light blue vehicle" that witnesses say was involved in a Monday afternoon crash on I-29 near the 9th Avenue exit, 53 mile marker.
A witness told investigators three motorcycles were in a row in the inside lanes southbound on the Interstate when the light blue vehicle came off of eastbound I-480 onto I-29 and attempted to merge to the inside lane.
The witness says the vehicle only let one of the bikes pass before striking the second one, pushing it into the median and a guardrail.
The adult male operator of the motorcycle was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An adult female passenger had non-life threatening injuries.
They are from Tennessee, and their names have not been released.
