Another Omaha Public Library Branch Prepares To Reopen

The Saddlebrook Branch at 14850 Laurel Avenue will welcome back visitors on Monday (Oct. 5th) after being shutdown in March because of Covid-19.

Omaha Public Library closed the system on March 16th in an effort to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, and remained closed due to City of Omaha budget concerns.

Following the approval of CARES Act funding by the state and county, Mayor Stothert announced in August that libraries may reopen.

Eight locations have already reopened: A.V. Sorensen Branch, Benson Branch, Bess Johnson Elkhorn Branch, Charles B. Washington Branch, Florence Branch, Millard Branch, Milton R. Abrahams Branch, and Willa Cather Branch.

OPL branches are open Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m., and Friday & Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Two locations, Millard and Abrahams, offer Sunday hours, 1-5 p.m., as will the W. Dale Clark main branch when it reopens.
