The ordinance, which went into effect in August and was extended in September, expires October 20th.
A council vote to extend the mandate is scheduled for next week.
Comparing statistics from last week with data from August 15th, Douglas County Health Director Dr. Adi Pour said there were 69 fewer positive cases, with 756 cases reported then compared to 687 cases confirmed last week.
She says 7,390 had been tested for COVID-19 as of mid-August; as of last week, 7,890 had been tested.
The positivity rate was 10.2% on August 15th, with the rate at 8.7% last week.
Pour says there were fewer positive cases confirmed last week after testing more people, “and we decreased our positivity."
She urges an extension be adopted.

Councilman Chris Jerram had cut off the microphone and asked her repeatedly to step down.
