With the deadline to print coming up, the Nebraska Supreme Court is expected to rule next week on whether or not a constitutional amendment for medical marijuana will appear on the November ballot.
For nearly an hour on Thursday, the justices questioned attorneys about the ballot initiative that had enough signatures to go to a vote of the people.
The petition initiative proposes families and individuals with a medical condition could get access to medical marijuana and permission to use it from a doctor.
Opponents argue the petition is way more complicated than that and should not be on the November ballot because it fails to meet a specificity standard.
Medical marijuana supporters believe this is simply a last-ditch effort to get in the way of what the people are proposing.
33 states have medical marijuana.
