The Douglas County Treasurer reports the successful handling 9,803 in-person transactions as the state-wide Covid-19 grace period for titles and registration renewals ended in August.
They say workers handled 3,239 transactions on Aug. 28th, 3,650 transactions Aug. 31st, and 2,914 on Tuesday of this week.
6 News reports the numbers are about three times more than the normal volume for walk-in business for the given time period.
Since the lobbies for the customer service centers reopened to walk-in traffic in June, the staff has handled 145,195 motor vehicle transactions in-person.
