"Nebraska Task Force 1" Wednesday will be setting up in Texas to assist with the response to Hurricane Laura.
“We are an a-la-cart, a needed resource. It just depends on what the incident gives to us to react to so it could be an awful lot of work, it could be not a lot of work, it just depends on what happens,” force member Nic Cunningham tells 6 News.
"NE-TF1," is an urban search-and-rescue team with Lincoln Fire and Rescue.
It includes 25 firefighters from the Lincoln, Omaha, and Papillion fire departments.
The team will start out in College Station, Texas.
The team was last deployed close to home: the "Flood of 2019."
