Georgia man arrested following pursuit that saw speeds of 155 MPH

A Georgia man is behind bars in Nebraska following a pursuit that reached speeds of 155 miles per hour.

The Nebraska State Patrol say just before 12:30 Monday morning, a trooper clocked a Chevy Camaro going 128 miles per hour on I-80 in Lincoln. The NSP says the trooper tried to pull the Camaro over, but the vehicle increased speed and fled.

The state patrol says the trooper pursued the vehicle, with the Camaro reaching speeds over 155 MPH during the chase. After a short time NSP says troopers were able to deploy stop sticks to slow the vehicle. Once the Camaro came to a stop, the driver, 33 year old Jamell Martinez of Hinesville, Georgia, was taken into custody.

Martinez was arrested on charges of willful reckless driving, flight to avoid arrest and traffic violations.
