Second Lady Karen Pence will be in Omaha on Thursday.
Mrs. Pence will be joining Congressman Don Bacon and his wife Angie Bacon to highlight youth outreach programs and veteran suicide prevention programs in the city.
Pence will visit Boys Town to receive an overview of the organization and tour of the Boys Town Hall of History. She will hear from Boys Town leadership about the work they do to provide care, treatment, and education to at-risk youth. She will also learn more about the Boys Town National Hotline, which is staffed by specially trained Boys Town counselors who are equipped to answer crisis calls from children experiencing suicidal thoughts.
Following the Boys Town visit, Mrs. Pence will visit the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC)/Nebraska Medicine to hear about UNMC's TBI and veteran suicide prevention programs.
