The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says they have tentatively identified a body found four miles outside of Tecumseh as a man reported missing back in June.
Yesterday morning, the Johnson County Sheriff's Office was called to a pasture driveway just off Highway 136 for a report of a body being found. A man was found in a vehicle parked in a location not visible from the highway.
After further investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol, the Johnson County Attorney's Office believes the body is that of 56 year old Mark Swarthout, of Beatrice, who had been reported missing since June 24, 2020. Further testing will be done to confirm his identity.
The investigation into the cause of his death is ongoing.
