Police in Lincoln have identified both the victim and suspect in a fatal 4th of July shooting.
Investigators say 20 year old Gavin Hall was shot and killed early Saturday morning at a home near 40th and Van Dorn. Officers were called to the area for a report of a man who had been shot, and when they arrived on the scene they found Hall dead with a gunshot wound to the head.
During their investigation, officers interviewed witnesses and learned that there was a small gathering at the home. Investigators say Hall's roommate, 18 year old Zachariah Serna, were bantering back and forth when Serna got a shotgun from his bedroom and walked towards Hall. Police say Serna fired the shotgun one time, hitting Hall in the head.
Serna was arrested on a charge of Manslaughter. The investigation is ongoing.
