The body of a Council Bluffs man who has been missing for weeks following a boating accident on the Missouri River has been found.
On Tuesday, Cass County Sheriff's deputies along with Murray Fire and Rescue and Plattsmouth Fire and Water Rescue were called after a body was located in the river. The body was located about a mile and a half south of the Rock Bluff Elevator.
They located the body of 28 year old Steven Sears on the west side of the river, caught in an area of fallen trees. Sears had gone missing after a boat accident near Crescent, Iowa on May 7th.
The Cass County Sheriff says, "Any charges in the case will be handled by Pottawattamie County."
