Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo set to reopen on June 1st

Plans are being made to reopen one of Omaha's biggest attractions amid the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

On Thursday, the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium released a statement announcing plans to reopen on Monday, June 1st. The zoo says the announcement is based on the guidance given by Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts Thursday afternoon at his press conference.

The Zoo says they've been planning for its reopening for about a month and will share its reopening details, which include significant restrictions, on Tuesday, May 26th.

Dennis Pate, president and CEO of Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, said, “All of us at the Zoo are thrilled to welcome guests back as part of our mission.”
