One man is dead following a Thursday morning crash in Dodge County.
The Dodge County Sheriff's Department says around 5:15 Thursday morning, deputies were called to a two vehicle crash near Highway 30 and County Road 3, about four miles west of North Bend. The DCSO says preliminary investigation showed that a semi, driven by 57 year old Duane Chrisman of Omaha, was westbound on Highway 30 when his truck crossed into the eastbound lane.
After crossing into the opposite lane of traffic, the semi hit an eastbound Volkswagen Jetta, driven by 54 year old Domingo Gonzalez of Schuyler. Both Gonzalez and his wife, who was in the front seat, were reportedly not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the car.
Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene and his wife was life-flighted to a Lincoln hospital.
Alcohol is not considered a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
