35 additional COVID-19 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Nebraska Tuesday bringing the total to 478 cases and 12 deaths.
Douglas County continues to lead Nebraska in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases. Health officials confirmed eight new coronavirus cases in Douglas County on Tuesday, bringing the total number of reported cases to 175 since the pandemic began.
Douglas County Health Department Director Adi Pour is urging residents to wear homemade masks in public to help stop the spread of the virus.
A resident of the Douglas County Health Center has died from the coronavirus. This is the second death of a resident at the center. Health officials have also confirmed seven new COVID-19 cases at the facility.
Five of the cases involve staff members and two cases involve long-term residents. Twenty-five COVID-19 cases have been confirmed at the facility since March 25th.
