Staff At Ralston High School Tests Positive For COVID-19 Coronavirus

RALSTON, Nebraska - A staff member at Ralston High School has tested positive for COVID-19 coronavirus. The District confirmed the information with KFAB Radio News.

The following message was sent to families Monday evening:

Dear Ralston High School Families,

We are sorry to share with you that we received word today about a Ralston High School staff member testing positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus). We have been in contact with the Douglas County Health Department and are following their guidance.

According to the Douglas County Health Department, this staff member started developing symptoms on Monday, March 16th. They stressed to us that no RHS students are at risk since school has not been in session. This employee had direct contact with a limited number of staff members in only certain areas of the school. Those employees have been contacted. A small number of employees who happened to be at the school on March 16 and 17 are at little to no risk of contracting the virus.

As part of the “Ram Family” this message is being sent to make you aware of this situation. We understand the concern a possible exposure causes. Our custodial staff has gone back through and deep cleaned the entire school. The safety of our staff and students is our top priority.

Sincerely,

Ralston Public Schools
