OMAHA, Nebraska - The Omaha Children's Museum will close starting Saturday, March 14th and reopen on March 31st. Officials there say this is assuming the spread of the virus has not dramatically increased. All special events are canceled.
There has been no known exposure to individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 either in the museum or among guests or staff. We are following the recommendations of the CDC and local health organizations by limiting opportunities for large crowds to gather.
"As an organization serving the needs of families, we're exercising an abundance of caution," said Lindy Hoyer, Executive Director of Omaha Children's Museum. "We believe this is the best decision to ensure the health and well-being of our guests and staff."
For help discussing coronavirus with children, the museum recommends the story "Coronavirus and Parenting: What You Need To Know Now."
