Concerns about the coronavirus is now impacting a Lenten tradition for metro area Catholics. Mary Our Queen Church has announced that they are cancelling their next two fish fry events.
In a statement on it's Facebook page church officials said "our Knights of Columbus Council received a message from our Supreme Leadership strongly recommending the cancellation of all meetings, events, and travel. We will be following this recommendation and have cancelled our Fish Frys for March 13th & 20th."
The statement also said "We're disappointed too, as we love putting these on as much as people enjoy attending. It was a difficult choice. But we also know that the more we limit exposure to others, the quicker we all move past this. We would appreciate your heartfelt thoughts and prayers for all who are impacted."
