LINCOLN, Nebraska - Lincoln Police made an arrest in the murder of Jonathan Olson.
Police were called to Olson's home on Fremont Street on October 11, 2019 to investigate an assault. Officers found Olson suffering from a number of injuries related to that assault. He told police the injuries happened in an assault earlier that day. He was rushed to a hospital with serious internal head injuries that required a number of surgeries. Olson died on October 17th.
After interviewing several witnesses, investigators learned that Olson had been in a relationship with a woman who was also in a relationship with 49 year old Mark Hietbrink of Lincoln. Investigators say Olson went to Hietbrink's home on October 11th to get personal property back and was confronted. Several witnesses reported seeing Hietbrink assault Olson.
On Sunday, Lincoln Police arrested Hietbrink for manslaughter.
