Nebraska U-S Senator Demanding Answers In Wake Of Drone Sightings

Nebraska Senator says she's very concerned that people across the state have a right to be concerned after several reports of drones flying across the state.

Fischer is a member of the Senate Commerce Committee which has oversees the Federal Aviation Administration. She told KFAB's morning news that she spoke with the FAA Administrator who said, as of now, there are still no answers about who is using these drones.

Last week Fischer said the FAA, FBI and local and state law enforcement from Nebraska and Colorado got together to discuss how to address the problem.

"I'm surprised that if it is a private business they haven't come forward to say hey don't worry it's us."

Fischer says she is also concerned that someone may try and shoot one of the drones down. "We have a number of private planes, general aviation, that are in the area as well and we certainly don't want a horrible accident to happen here as somebody tries to bring one of these down."

Fischer says she will continue to press for answers. She says the best thing Nebraskans can do continue to report the sightings. "I'm encouraging people to just contact their local authorities. Try and get pictures and try and get video and we're going to continue to push on this end."
