A man and woman are dead and an Omaha police officer is in the hospital after a shooting Tuesday night at a public housing building.
Omaha Police were called for a domestic disturbance on the fifth floor of Evans Tower near 24th and Evans just after 10 p.m.
Police say when the first two officers arrived they encountered a man in the hallway of the fifth floor. A short time later, police say there was an exchange of gunfire. Police say the gunman was killed and they also found a woman dead at the scene. Police have not said how she was killed and they are trying to determine what the connection is between the two.
An officer was shot in the leg and is expected to recover. More information is expected to be released on Wednesday
