PAPILLION, Nebraska - State court charges against Jason Gaines have been dismissed. The Papillion City councilman had been charged with one count of negligent child abuse, a class 1 misdemeanor. It was reported on September 6th, Gaines grabbed a child that caused bruises and scratches on his arm.
Chief Deputy Sarpy County Attorney Bonnie Moore stated in a news release, "Subsequent to fling charges, our office received video evidence from the defendant which corroborates his story. Upon review of the additional evidence, it was determined that we could not move forward with the charges.”
