A six year old girl is in critical condition after a hit and run crash near 50th and Grand Avenue Wednesday evening.
Investigators said just before 5:30 p.m. a Chevy Silverado pickup struck the rear passenger fender of a car and spun it around. Police say the driver of the Chevy then took off westbound on Grand Avenue and struck an eastbound vehicle before hitting a stop sign.
Police say the pickup then collided with a third vehicle. Three people inside the second vehicle that was struck were transported to the hospital, including six year old Ariona Thomas. Police say she suffered life-threatening head, back and spinal cord injuries.
Omaha Police say the pickup driver had been drinking and was speeding. 51 year old Kenneth Greer suffered a fractured pelvis. Police say charges are pending against him.
