A 19 year old woman is facing charges for hitting and killing a 10-year-old Papillion girl in downtown Papillion in August.
Masey Lawrence turned herself in at the Sarpy County Jail early Friday morning. Investigators say 10-year-old Abby Whitford was in a crosswalk with her brother on August 20th when she was struck by a vehicle at 2nd Street and Washington.
Abby died a few days later at a hospital. Lawrence was booked for misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide, failure to yield and speeding. She was expected to make her first court appearance later in the day.
