Lincoln Police are investigating the death of a 15 year-old boy as a homicide. Police say just after 10:00 Sunday night officers were called to the area of 7th and Fletcher Avenue on the report of gunshots.
As officers were responding they learned a teenager had been shot and was in need of medical assistance. Officers were then directed to parking lot of the Walgreens at 14th and Superior where they started CPR.
The boy was taken to a local hospital where he died. Investigators and Crime Scene Technicians are in the preliminary states of the investigation. Police say they are still working to determine what led to the gunfire.
