An Omaha woman was critically injured after she was struck by a car near 99th and Maple early Thursday morning.
Investigators say 2005 Honda Pilot was westbound on Maple around 6:30. The woman tried to cross Maple from north to south just east of 99th Street. Police say there is no crosswalk at this location.
Police say 21 year old Saadiyo Yusuf Mohamed was struck by the Honda and transported to Nebraska Medicine. She suffered head and internal injuries that investigators say are considered life threatening.
The driver of the Honda was not hurt. Police say neither excessive speed nor alcohol use were factors in the crash.
