Environmental and Historical Screening Assessments will be done for Mills County homes included on the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program owner buyout list that are over 45 years old.
On September 9th, Assessment Teams from the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Department will assess approximately 100 properties in Pacific Junction and 27 unincorporated properties. Owners have previously signed a waiver of access.
Teams will be driving State of Iowa cars with appropriate markings and will be credentialed. This information is being collected for the primary purpose of determining eligibility and administration of FEMA Preparedness Grant Programs and to ensure compliance with existing laws and regulations regarding the environment and historic preservation.
