Sarpy County authorities have identified the motorcyclist killed in a chain-reaction crash Tuesday afternoon on Highway 75 near the Highway 34 junction.
47 year old Jody Emmert of Bellevue died at the scene of the crash. Investigators say the motorcycle and three other vehicles were all traveling southbound toward the Highway 34 overpass when the Harley Davidson hit a 1998 Ford Windstar minivan, triggering a second crash with a Ford Transit work van and a Ford F-150 pickup.
Authorities say the pick-up and work van were trailing the motorcycle and the minivan prior to the crash. The pick-up hit the left rear-quarter of the van while trying to avoid the motorcycle crash.
The pick-up driver was treated and released from the hospital. A 13 year old passenger was treated for a mild injury caused by the seatbelt.
Highway 75 reopened just before 10:00 Tuesday night.
