Lincoln Convenience Store Robbery Suspect Shot

Lincoln Police say a customer inside the Kwik Shop at 56th and Holdrege shot a person trying to rob the store early Thursday morning.

Officers were called to the store at 1:40 a.m. on a hold-up alarm. Investigators said a man had gone into the store and tried to steal items.

Police say the suspect confronted the clerk and a 38 year old female customer shot the suspect in the arm.

According to police, the 22 year old would-be thief took off and turned up at a hospital for treatment. His wound is not considered to be life-threatening.

The investigation is ongoing and police are reviewing surveillance video to see if the customer was justified in shooting the suspect.
