Update: Missouri Valley Firefighter Facing Child Porn Charges

Update: More information has been released in the case of Missouri Valley, Iowa firefighter charged with sexual exploitation of a minor child and possession of child pornography.

Jeff Bierbrodt was arrested in Johnson County, Missouri. According to a report released on July 17th, Bierbrodt was booked on those charges that date.

The report from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office shows that a 16 year old girl told authorities last week that she had been in a sexual relationship with Bierbrodt when she was living in Iowa. The report also shows that Bierbrodt confirmed the relationship with law enforcement.

The report also states that 35 year old Bierbrodt had sex and had other sexual activities with the girl. The two also traveled to the University of Central Missouri and while there he sent explicit photos to her on social media and asked that she send nude images of her to him there.

There were also screen shots of images of the teen on Bierbrodt's phone and he told them he had asked for the pictures from the victim and that he had taken the screen shot.

Missouri Valley firefighter Jeff Bierbrodt is behind bars in connection with a child pornography investigation.

The 35-year-old was Bierbrodt was arrested in Johnson County,Missouri on Wednesday and taken to jail. He's being held on $100,000 bond.

He is facing charges for sexual exploitation of a minor, possession of child pornography and furnishing pornographic material to a minor.

Bierbrodt is due in court later this week. 6 News says he has served in a pastor role at several churches in Harrison County, Iowa.

The Missouri Valley Fire Department released this statement on it's Facebook page:

"Firefighter Jeff Bierbrodt was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the case the moment we were made aware of his arrest. This in no way reflects on the great men and women of the Missouri Valley Fire Department and our commitment to the citizens of Missouri Valley."
