On Thursday, June 6th, an out-of-state law enforcement agency requested the assistance of Bellevue Police.Officers were told that a 13 year old girl from their jurisdiction was reported as an endangered missing juvenile on Wednesday, June 5th.The victim was believed to be at an address in Bellevue at 12704 South 38th Street.Officers went to the home and made contact with 34 year old Nicholas James Avery, a registered sex offender.The 13 year old female was found with Avery.She was recovered and Nicholas was taken into custody.
Bellevue detectives and officers learned that the victim met Avery through various social media websites.Avery arranged and paid for a driver to pick up the victim and bring her to Bellevue.Detectives also learned the victim had been sexually assaulted at Avery's home in Bellevue.Avery was transported and booked into the Sarpy County Jail for 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.The girl is back with her family.
Bellevue police say that Avery was arrested in January of 2017 for child enticement by electronic communication device.There are reports he was also convicted of the same crime in 2016.
