Omaha police are investigating a car-pedestrian accident that happened around 5:15 at 44th and Dodge Street.
Investigators say that a northbound pedestrian started crossing Dodge while vehicle traffic had the right-of-way, a green light for east and westbound traffic. The pedestrian, 65 year old Courtney Quinn Jr of Omaha was hit by a westbound vehicle.
Quinn was taken to a hospital with serious head injuries.
The traffic lights at 44th and Dodge were functioning at the time of the accident. The signal had a pedestrian crossing light when activated.
The driver of the vehicle was not hurt.
