The latest in Hollywood's obsession with reboots is Rambo. The fifth installment released its first trailer today, 37 years after the original hit theaters. And 11 years after the last time we tried to reboot the franchise. Side note: Did you know there was an animated series based on this movie in 1986? Seems like an odd person to have marketing to children.
Titled 'Last Blood' our movie sees Rambo seemingly enjoying old age on a ranch in the south or southwest. That seems to be interrupted as ghosts from his past come to get their vengeance. Rambo rigs his ranch up like Home Alone and mayhem ensues. I guess I'm on board for this. Seems wholly unnecessary, but most reboots do. Sly Stallone successfully rebooted the Rocky franchise, so I guess I'll give him a pass if this blows up in his face.
Rambo: Last Blood hits theaters later this year
