Second Set Of Skeletal Remains Found In Stanton County

For the second time in a month, record flooding's flushed out human remains along the Elkhorn River in Stanton County.

Law enforcement officials say the remains were found on private property Saturday about three miles southeast of Stanton. In late March, skeletal remains were found about three miles southwest of the town.

The stretch of the Elkhorn is downstream of Norfolk. Officials say the remains from March were sent to experts for analysis, as will those found Saturday.

The Sheriff’s office says they currently have two open local missing person cases from many years past and has also been contacted by numerous law enforcement agencies with missing person cases regarding the discovery last month.

The remains found on Saturday are not those of Scott Goodman, who was washed away in Norfolk last month during the flooding.
